Dr. Acharya is an Associate Professor at the Department of Oncology, National Academy of Medical Sciences. Her professional experiences include Resident Medical Officer at Kanti Children’s Hospital (2002-2003), Medical Officer and Research Coordinator at NORVIC International Hospital (2003-2004). She also served in different positions at National Academy of Medical Sciences such as Medical Officer (2004-2006), MD Radiothreapy Resident (2006-2009), Registrar (2009-2010), Clinical Tutor (2010-2014) and Assistant Professor at the Department of Radiotherapy (2014-2015). She was honored with International Development and Education Award “IDEA” 2012, International Development and Education Award in Palliative Care 2016 and IASLC International Mentorship Award 2016. Her professional memberships include General Secretary for the Nepalese Society of Palliative Care Association, Executive Member at the Cancer Care Nepal, Life Member of the Nepalese Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, SAARC Federation of Oncologist Nepal, Nepal Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology. She is a founding member of Nepalese Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology.
